1. What information do we collect?
Information you provide to us
When you register for and use the Werksy app, we collect the following information:
- Your name and phone number, used to create and identify your account
- Your postcode, used to surface relevant spaces near you
- Your contact preferences and any feedback you provide to us
Payment information
Payments on the Werksy platform are processed by Stripe. Werksy does not store your card details or payment credentials. All payment data is held and processed by Stripe in accordance with their own privacy notice, available at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Werksy app, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:
- Device information such as device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
- Log and usage data, including the features you use, timestamps, and error reports
- IP address and general network information
Location information
The Werksy app may request access to your device's location in order to show you nearby spaces. The level of location data we collect depends on your device settings and the permissions you grant. You can manage or revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. If you choose not to grant location access, certain features of the app may not function as intended.
Push notifications
We may send push notifications to your device relating to your account or activity on the platform. You can opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings.
2. How do we use your information?
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your Werksy account
- To enable you to find, access, and pay for spaces through the platform
- To process and reconcile payments via Stripe
- To recommend spaces relevant to your location
- To send you receipts, account notifications, and administrative communications
- To maintain the security and operation of the platform
- To conduct internal analytics and improve our services
- To administer prize draws and competitions where you choose to participate
- To respond to support queries and feedback
- To send you marketing communications, partner offers, and benefit notifications where you have given your consent to receive them
- To use aggregated, anonymised insights about platform activity to inform our own marketing and business decisions
- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations
We process your information on the basis of contract performance (to provide the services you have signed up for), legitimate interests (to improve and secure the platform and to use anonymised insights for marketing purposes), your consent (for direct marketing communications), and compliance with legal obligations.
Where we send you marketing communications or partner offers, we do so on the basis of your consent, captured at signup. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Where we promote partner benefits, we send those communications ourselves and your data is never shared with the partner. You can withdraw your marketing consent at any time by updating your preferences in the app or contacting us at legal@werksy.io.
3. Who do we share your information with?
Partner spaces
When you visit a space through the Werksy platform, we share limited visit and financial data with that space for the purposes of managing and reconciling your visit. This data does not include your contact details, payment information, or any information that would allow the space to identify or contact you outside of the Werksy platform. Partner spaces may not use this data for marketing or share it with third parties.
Werksy Friends
If you choose to connect with other Werksy users through the Friends feature, limited information about your activity on the platform may be visible to your connected friends. You can manage your Friend connections at any time within the app.
Service providers
We use a small number of trusted third-party service providers to operate the Werksy platform. These providers act as data processors on our behalf and may only use your data as directed by us:
- Google Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) – our core infrastructure provider, used for authentication, database, and app functionality. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Stripe – our payment processing provider. Stripe's privacy notice is available at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Legal and regulatory disclosure
We may disclose your information where required to do so by law, in response to a valid legal request, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Werksy, our users, or others.
4. How long do we keep your information?
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide our services. Where you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or fraud prevention purposes. Payment and transaction records may be retained for up to seven years in line with our legal obligations.
5. How do we keep your information safe?
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include access controls, encrypted data transmission, and secure cloud infrastructure. While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights under UK GDPR
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you
- The right to rectification if your data is inaccurate or incomplete
- The right to erasure (the ‘right to be forgotten’) in certain circumstances
- The right to restrict or object to certain types of processing
- The right to data portability
- The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

We may update this privacy notice from time to time. Where we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or by email. The date at the top of this notice reflects when it was last updated. We encourage you to review it periodically.
